THRIVE
The Thrive Approach provides 1 to 1 or group sessions support, focusing on building relationships with the children to develop their knowledge, skills and tools to optimise social and emotional development. Thrive not only benefits the children, but those working with them and the wider community.
Thrive sessions are set up for children with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties which may include:
- lack of self-esteem
- withdrawn
- unable to share and take turns
- doesn't trust adults/peers
- may lack in mannerism skills
- disrupts other children in the classroom
- has behavioural issues
- language skills
- struggle with the mainstream classroom environment
Entry into the sessions is carefully considered through a staged referral procedure and the use of a range of assessments over time.

Junior School - Orchard Lunch
Orchard Lunch runs from 12:00 – 12:30pm every day. Children are chosen to attend by the adults in school, and are then allowed to invite a guest each day. As well as eating lunch together, we play a variety of games and take part in different activities. There is a focus on social skills, for example: learning to take turns and to get along with others.
Children who are chosen to attend are assessed using Thrive, The Boxall Profile and Beyond the Boxall. This helps us to identify the specific areas of need for the individual children and allows us to structure and plan the lunchtime sessions accordingly.
