School Meals

As a school we have made our lunchtimes fun and an opportunity to learn and enjoy time with friends from other year groups. The children have had a voice in developing lunchtimes and they have shared what they like, don’t like and would like at lunchtime.

Our nutritious school lunch helps children flourish by giving them the right balance of nutrients and energy to enhance concentration during afternoon lessons, in assembly or on the sports field. It contributes to building lifelong healthy eating habits that will allow them to flourish as their minds and bodies grow.

From September 2024 the cost of a school dinner is £3.20 per day, for Junior school children.  Payments are made online via Arbor.  Please ask the office for further information.

Packed Lunches

Our Schools support the approach advocated by Anaphylaxis UK towards nut free schools. As nuts are only one of many allergens that could affect pupils and we cannot blanket ban foods and guarantee a truly allergen free environment, we advocate a culture of allergy awareness.

The food standards agency survey of packed lunchboxes showed that many children’s lunchboxes contained too much sugar, salt and fat and little fruit and vegetables.  Our school is committed to encouraging parents to provide healthier lunchbox for children.

It is important for your child's long term health needs, that they have a balanced diet.

We recommend that you visit the Netmums website for advice healthy lunchboxes:

Cool Milk

Our school is part of a school milk scheme run in partnership with CoolMilk.

Thanks to government subsidies, school milk is free and available daily in school for all under-fives.

If you wish your child to continue to have milk after their fifth birthday this can be offered at a subsidised cost.

If your child is entitled to Free School Meal's (Pupil Premium) and they wish to continue drinking school milk beyond their fifth birthday, please enquire at the school office, as they may be entitled to receive it as part of a school payment scheme.

Registration and payment for over 5's is done directly with CoolMilk, please click the link below for more information on how to do this.
